Rocket Cheetah

Following several teases last week, the DC Comics content for LittleBigPlanet was finally detailed on the PlayStation Blog yesterday… and includes a couple of exciting surprises. The DC Comics Premium Level Pack will launch for LittleBigPlanet 2 this week and brings with it a series of new, superhero-themed story levels, Trophies, Pins and what could be the most enticing selection of new abilities and tools LBP 2 has ever received. The Hero Cape power-up gives Sackboy the ability to glide through the air and perform all sorts of aerial acrobatics, while the Wall Jump Material and Tweaker allow him to leap from and slide up and down walls. dc-joker The PlayStation Blog post also casually mentions what could be one of the most game-changing new features ever to come to LittleBigPlanet 2: The Memoriser. This gadget, familiar to players of LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, allows creators to save the state of various switches and logic gates to essentially create a save game for their own levels. This is great for big levels like RPGs or puzzlers because when the player returns to the level later, they can pick-up where they left-off. The Memoriser has been put to great use in LBPV and was one of the most requested features the LBP 2 community has been asking for. Invisible Material and the Decoration Spinner also make the journey from Vita to PS3. The DC Comics Level Pack includes four new levels, two mini-games, tutorials and a boss battle, all of which can be accessed through a hub level which opens-up new areas as you progress through the story. dc-comics-pack Alongside the level pack, this week will also see the first of several DC Comics Costume Kits featuring Superman, Supergirl, Brainiac, Bizarro and Lex Luthor. The level pack will cost £5.49/$6.99 while the costume packs will be £4.79/$5.99 (no € prices announced yet). But for the first time, these packs will be available as part of a Season Pass which will cost £19.99/€24.99/$24.99 and gives you access to the LBP 2 level pack, all DC costume kits and the LittleBigPlanet PS Vita’s DC Comics Level Pack when it’s released next year with its own unique set of levels. More information about the DC Comics Premium Level Pack and the DC Comics Costume Pack can be found on LittleBigPlanet.com. So, what do you think of this huge DLC drop?
